When putting together a shower it can be easy to overlook a couple or several of the major baby shower party supplies that you’ll need. There are basically four areas that you should worry about when gathering party supplies; general decoration, table ware and silverware, games supplies and loot bags items.
The general decorations are usually what most people think of when they go out to buy supplies. Hardly anyone forgets about the balloons, banners, streamers, confetti, etc. The basic concern here is that you get enough decorations to properly cover the area you are planning to host the party in. One roll of party ribbon or streamer will do for about half of one living room. So you should look for two rolls to cover one living room sized area and you’ll have a little bit leftover for the next party.
It can be easy to overlook an essential silverware or tableware item for the party. Usually baby showers have some sort of food. It can be a buffet, appetizers or just drinks, but make sure you have everything you need for the number of people being served and the items you’ll be serving. A basic buffet set up will need plates, forks, knives, spoons, lots of napkins, plastic cups, serving spoons and forks, platters, covered dishes and a tablecloth.
One can assume that a baby shower will have games to keep the guests entertained. Before the party take stock and decide what you will need for the games. A popular game at many showers is ‘What’s in the Nappy?” For this one you’ll need a variety of odd smelling foods like vinegar and chili, several diapers, pencils and paper for all the guests.
Most party hosts will give out a small party favor or loot bag as gifts for the guests in return for whatever baby shower items they may have brought. The concern here is to just make sure you have enough for your guests and a few extra in case someone decides to crash the party. Also it can be a good idea to match your favors to the theme of your party.
